파트너 트랙으로 영어공부 해보기(3)

파트너 트랙 3화는 생각보다 꽤 비즈니스적 용어가 많이 등장했었던 것 같다. 법률용어나 축약된 단어들도 많아서 꽤나 신선했다.

항상성. 모든 것이 안정되고 균형잡힌 상태를 말한다.

모든 것이 완벽하다고 느껴지는 순간이다.

그래서 너가 법률 자문위원인 카터 민을 만나고 왔으면 해.

그들이 본사를 풍력 발전지대로 옮겼다.
It's part of the pivot to renewable energy initiatives.
재생가능한 에너지의 중점적 부분이라고 하는데,

거리가 좀 있다.
Car service is a no-go. Drivers are on strike.
운전기사들이 파업중이라 차량 서비스 이용은 불가능하다.

그래, 그 카우보이 아저씨가 이 회사를 인수하려고 상당한 돈을 지불할 생각인데.
Until he found out you were flirting with Bradburn Energy.
그가 너가 브래드번 에너지와 이야기중인 걸 알아버렸지.
Of course, I assume that's some kinda mistake.
물론 실수였을거라고 생각한다.
Bradburn's been scaling back on their output for the last decade, so there's no way in hell they could come near our purchase price.
브래드번에선 지난 10년동안 규모를 축소해왔고, 그들은 매입 가격을 비슷하게도 맞출 수 없을거다.

거짓 진술로 의뢰인을 거래로 끌어들인거면, 성립된 모든 계약은 효력이 없다.
However, if you insist that no misrepresentations were made and the acid you traded her was real, then I have some friends at the DEA who would be super interested in talking to you.
만약에 거짓으로 진술한 사실이 없고 거래한 마약이 진짜라고 주장한다면 마약단속국(DEA)에서 일하는 내 친구가 널 엄청 보고 싶어할거 같다.

듣자하니 너의 설득이 그 집 아들들에게 꽤 인상깊었나봐.
Bradburn is toast, and the deal is back on.
브래드번은 끝났고 거래가 재개되었다.
